La Fille De La Lune Brooch

This acrylic brooch is inspired by illustration in ‘La Guirlande d’art et de la litterature’, a rare Art Deco magazine dating from 1919. I picked a lovely gold glitter acrylic to replicate the shimmer of the original illumination.

‘La Fille de la Lune’ is an illustrated French poem, adapted from Arabic. In it, a girl breaks a man’s heart by running away to the moon.

This historical image that inspired this piece has been made freely available for use by Internet Archive. Find the original work at

I have made only minor edits to the original artwork to transform it into a wearable piece of the past.

This badge is made of glitter gold acrylic, measuring 2 x 1.3 inches and weighing ~5g.

The brooch comes with a card depicting the original artwork that inspired it and the mini art history lesson.

If you’re ordering this as a gift, let me know and I can wrap items individually or include a message for you!
